Is your makeup identical to the National Brands?
My mineral makeup can be compared to the major brands available on the market today but is not identical. For example, even the two largest national mineral makeup companies foundations are completely different from one another. One is shimmery, light and silky, the other is more matte and offers greater coverage and both contain Bismuth Oxychloride. Although many of my products have compared favorably to the largest sellers, if you are purchasing my products for the first time please do not expect an exact match to a national brand product in shade, texture or ingredients. In that case, I would strongly suggest that you order a set of samples.
What are the ingredients in your makeup?
My mineral makeup may contain: mica, titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, iron oxides, tin oxide, ultramarines, chromium oxide, clays, cornstarch, silica and carmine. My line of SHEER FACE *Pearl* products also contain Bismuth Oxychloride. Please see the individual category listings of ingredients. My skin care product listings will list those ingredients separately. All mineral ingredients used are approved for use on eyes, face, lips and nails.
How much powder is in your jars?
Sizes are stated in mass/net weight and volume. My powders are packaged in a similar manner to the industry standard:
1 gram powder (usually eyeshadow) in a 5 gram jar
2.5 grams powder (usually blush, concealer, foundation) in a 10 gram sifter jar
4 grams powder (foundation in auction sets only) in a 20 gram sifter jar
8 grams powder (foundation, veil) in a 30 gram sifter jar
12 grams powder (foundation, veil) in ziplock refill baggies
How much powder is in a gram?
One gram net weight (or mass) of powder will "usually" closely resemble one teaspoon, possibly less. Some minerals are much heavier than others, and cosmetic mineral makeup products that contain a greater ratio of Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Chromium Oxide and/or Iron Oxide will weigh more, thus provide less powder per gram. For example, a dark ebony matte eyeshadow contains a much higher ratio of Black Iron Oxide, a very heavy mineral and one gram of this cosmetic product may measure out to be approximately 1/2 teaspoon. At the time of packaging, all mineral cosmetics are weighed on a jewellers gram scale to ensure that you receive the correct gram weight as stated in the listings. Please expect that not all quantites will be exactly one teaspoon.
How long will this product last?
This depends largely on how often you apply your powder and how much you apply. Generally speaking, a 10 gram size jar that holds 2.5 grams of powder will last 1-2 months; a 20 gram size jar that holds 4 grams of powder will last about 3-4 months; a 30 gram size jar that holds 8 grams of powder will last about 5-6 months. Blush, bronzer, glow and mineral veil will last much longer depending on size and usage could last from 2-3 months up to 6 months or longer. Eyeshadows in the 5 gram jar containing 1 gram of powder could last from 1 month to as long as 6 months or longer. I recommend following the industry guidelines to dispose of any makeup after approximately 6 months.
